Uncle Tim’s cabin opened in January 1993 in a very old building (Circa 1900) with a varied history. The building has gradually been renovated and now we offer 5 rooms crammed with Antiques, Collectibles & Cottage furniture.
At the rear of the property we have built a workshop and store room where all furniture repairs and restorations are carried out. To the rear of the building we established a charming restaurant with a private garden with a fountain and herb garden etc. it took off so well that we couldn’t cope with it in addition to the cabin, and it is now under new management.
Over the last 16 years we have renovated the other buildings on the property and converted them into a series of small shops creating a Victorian village effect. The building on the opposite side of the car park we have christened “The Trellis”. Originally an old coachworks, it has been converted into 6 individual shops offering a huge variety of good quality merchandise ranging from teddy bears, to jewelry, scrap booking to antiques and exclusive imported Moroccan goods etc.
Following on the success of this venture we then redeveloped the original farm house into a further 7 small shops, again making sure that they each offer something different such as books, embroidery and a tack shop etc. We now also have a specialist herb garden nursery. Our youngest buildings are “The Gables” which opened in 2002, with 4 shops offering jewelry, art gallery and framing and militaria. In all we now have 20 businesses operating in a charming country setting. It is so quaint we have even had couples marrying here.
